The optimal timing for wisdom tooth extraction is before the tooth’s root is fully developed. The timing varies, but the procedure is usually performed between the ages of 18 and 23. As you age, the bone around the wisdom teeth hardens, so the younger you are when the procedure is done, the quicker the healing and the lower the risks.
