Joonas Liukkonen

Dentist (DDS), specialised in periodontics

I graduated as a dentist from the University of Turku in 2013. After my graduation I worked as a dentist at the health centre for about a year and a half after which I have been working in the private sector. From 2018 to 2019 I was primarily working in Tampere University Hospital in relation to my specialisation.

I am a dental specialist in periodontics (diseases of the periodontal tissue). I treat gingival diseases relating to the teeth or dental implants. I also treat receding gums and perform other surgical procedures relating to the gums. Additionally I perform other small oral surgery procedures, such as tooth extractions and surgical tooth extractions. In addition to my specialisation I also perform basic dental care.

I am almost finished with my specialisation, and I am currently doing work at a health centre in relation to my specialisation. For the duration of my specialisation training, I am working as a part-time dentist in the private sector. In addition to clinical work I am writing a dissertation on the salivary diagnostics of diseases of the periodontal tissue.
